Well it's been two long trips... but we are almost there. You might have noticed that kermyt.com went down for a couple of months. the server it was on was running out of space and it was on antiquated hardware. Then on top of that I was being beaten on by some IP address in Russia or the Ukraine. The end result was such a CPU demand on my firewall / web server / SQL server that nothing was working for me unless I turned off the web server. I contemplated paying for hosting, but I am too cheap for that. So I ended up rebuilding everything from scratch on a copy of SuSE 10.2 installed on a nice new firewall with twice the memory and about 10 time the CPU (if you have the time to prove that statement wrong then you have far too much time on your hands). I installed Drupal and gallery2 and gallery.module that effectively ties the user administration of drupal and gallery together and contains container blocks for displaying gallery teasers on your main pages. (very slick work I might add). For some reason hotmail seems to be filtering my confirmation emails so if you register you should use something other than a hotmail address. I encourage everyone to register a user here. You will have to if you wish to post a comment or a forum article. Any posting of obvious spam links will be dealt with harshly and quickly. I have been reading about AJAX (not the soap) and have recently been excited about incorporating AJAX into one of my favorite web based games. (more on that later). Meanwhile please take the time to enjoy the gallery and whatever garbage I choose to post here.
